Buyer enquiries,
and what they cost
CarKathmandu is a research site, not a classifieds board. People arrive already deciding between two cars, work out what one actually costs on the road, and some of them ask to be put in touch with a dealer. This page is what happens next, in full, including the parts that are not flattering to us.
Start with the bad news
This site launched in 2026 and is not yet ranking for the searches that matter. We are not going to quote you a traffic figure, because any number we could quote today would be too small to mean anything, and inflating it is how this relationship would end.
So the pilot is free. You pay nothing, for sixty days, and you find out from real enquiries whether this is worth anything to you. If it isn't, you walk away having lost nothing but the time it took to reply to a few buyers.
What an enquiry looks like
Not a name and a phone number. Every enquiry we pass on carries the car the buyer was actually looking at, what they told us they can spend, when they intend to buy, whether they need financing, and whether there is a trade-in. It reaches you by WhatsApp or Viber within the hour, because that is where a Nepali buyer will actually answer you.
- The specific car and variant, and the one they were comparing it against
- Budget band, and whether that is ex-showroom or on-road in their head
- Timeframe — buying now, one to three months, or still reading
- Financing needed, and which bank if they named one
- Trade-in, and what they are trading
- Their city, so you know whether they can reach your showroom
What we ask in return
One thing, and it is the whole price of the pilot: tell us what happened to each enquiry. Contacted, sold, or junk. Three taps.
We are not being polite — we need it. Without it we cannot tell a good enquiry from a bad one, cannot stop sending you the bad ones, and have no honest basis for charging anyone anything later. A dealer who marks everything “junk” and a dealer who marks nothing at all are equally useless to us, and we would rather have four honest dealers than ten quiet ones.
What it costs after sixty days
A flat monthly fee, agreed with you at the end of the pilot against what the pilot actually produced. Not a percentage of a sale, and not a per-enquiry charge — both of those need attribution neither of us can prove yet, and arguing about whether a buyer was “really” ours is a bad way to spend a working relationship.
No contract, no notice period, no minimum term. Stop whenever it stops being worth it.
What is not for sale, at any price
Our verdicts
Every comparison on this site ends in a recommendation computed from spec and price differences against published weights and thresholds. No payment changes one. If our page says buy the other car, it will keep saying that while you are paying us.
Placement in a list
The “best X in Nepal” collections are built from the dataset by rule. There is no sponsored slot and there will not be one.
A price you would prefer we published
We will correct a price you can show us is wrong — that is the job, and the corrections log is public. We will not raise or lower one because it suits a showroom.
Buyer details, to anyone who did not ask for them
A buyer's number goes to a dealer only when the buyer asks us to send it. We do not sell the list, and we do not pass the same enquiry to five dealers to see who bites.
What you are actually being offered
Every price dated and sourced, last audited 2026-07-27. Fewer cars than the big Nepali listing sites, on purpose — see how we work. The people who arrive here are not browsing; they are deciding.
Talk to me directly
Shekhar Koirala runs this site alone from Kathmandu, Nepal. There is no sales team to get past — call or message and you get the person who decides.
